Lincoln Rorie was born on February 18, 1953 in Washington, DC. Lincoln affectionately known as “Pat” was born to the late Abraham Lincoln Rorie and Benzina Rorie. Lincoln was educated in DC Public School System. Lincoln was a oil truck driver and furnace burner mechanic for Takoma Fuel Oil Company and Carter Fuel Oil Company for over 27 years. Lincoln also worked for American Ice Company during the summer months and at the Wharf in Washington, DC on the Jesse Taylor Boat and many other fishing boats for over 20 years as well. Lincoln’s first passion was working on cars. He also enjoyed fishing, going to the farm, reading the newspaper, watching the National Geographic and old westerns. Spending time with friends and family was the highlight of his life. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he also had a deep fondness for music. He commonly referred to himself as “Chef Boy-R-Dee” as he cooked and grilled. Lincoln was a straight forward, fun loving person and the life of any party.

A Time To Die

He departed this life on Friday, July 10, 2009, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD.

He leaves in Gods care the light of his life and the center of his world his loving and devoted wife Wanda Rorie; His mother Benzina Rorie; 3 Children Tonya Scott, Raigan Ingram, Lincoln (Wheeler) Rorie II; one step-daughter Terri Taylor; and Gino Estep Jr. whom he raised from birth; 5 sisters Gail Long, Denise Rorie-Warren, Tanya Bryan , Regina Mayhew; 2 Brothers Wayne Rorie, Timothy (Butter) Rorie; 5 Aunts Daisy Dawkins, Angelina Reeder, Maeola Johnson, Margaret Stafford, Thomasina Robinson ; 1 Uncle Nilem Reeder; 9 Grandchildren Darius, DaVonna, Damien, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Noah, Allen, Azaria, D’mon ; 6 Honorary Grandchildren Darius Roberts, Dajon, Gino III , Giana, Destiny, Alexis ; 2 Sister In – Laws Verniece Rorie, Edwardee Waddy ; 4 Brother In- Laws Micheal Mayhew, Lloyd Bryan, Gino Estep Sr., Javan Estep ; Mother In-Law Gloria Thomas; 1 Son In-Law Chester (Mann) Ingram. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

His Viewing will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 10:00 am until time of Service, 12 noon at THORNTON FUNERAL HOME, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
