Highly recommended is "Dark Holler: Old Love Songs and Ballads" — A 2005 video and research project being carried out by Rob Roberts and Martha King. Their focus is on the singers and the history of documentation of the ballad-singing community of Madison County, North Carolina, where John Cohen filmed Dillard Chandler and others for End of an Old Song(1972). — Rounder Records also has released recordings from the New Lost City Ramblers. — Joel Agee, John Cohen's assistant on the The High Lonesome Sound, has written an essay recounting his experiences in Kentucky titled "Killing a Turtle."
