Jeanette DeBouzek

Jeanette DeBouzek lives in Albuquerque, NM, where she is the director of the 12-member percussion ensemble, Gamelan Encantada. From 1993-2007, she owned Alphaville Video, a retail store specializing in classic, international, documentary and rare films on tape and disc. She was one of the first graduates of the Certificate Program in Ethnographic Film at New York University, where her work in the Performance Studies department focused on the topic of documenting the internal experience of trance and possession rituals through the medium of film. She also holds a Masters in Folklore & Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley.
