Lawrence R. Hott (born October 6, 1950) is an American documentary filmmaker and a founding partner of Florentine Films. He began making documentaries in 1978 after leaving the practice of law and has since produced and directed more than two dozen films for national PBS broadcast. His work has received an Emmy Award, a George Foster Peabody Award, a duPont-Columbia Journalism Award, fourteen CINE Golden Eagles, and two Academy Award nominations. Hott was a Fulbright Fellow in Film and Television in the United Kingdom in 1994 and a Fulbright Specialist in Vietnam in 2015. With Claudia Levin, he made Rebuilding the Temple: Cambodians in America (1991), which follows Cambodian refugees rebuilding their lives, communities, and Buddhist traditions in the United States.
