Filmmakers

Claudia Levin is a documentary filmmaker and producer whose work has explored culture, immigration, education, and social issues. With Lawrence R. Hott, she produced and directed Rebuilding the Temple: Cambodians in America (1991), an award-winning documentary about Cambodian refugees rebuilding their communities and Buddhist traditions in the United States. She later produced and directed Only a Teacher, a history of the teaching profession in America, for PBS.

Levin has also worked internationally through Claudius Films, producing such documentaries as Paper Dolls, Bil’in My Love, Metamorphoses, The Quest for the Missing Piece, Eight Twenty Eight, and 6 Floors to Hell. Her films have received awards at festivals including the Berlin, Jerusalem, Rotterdam, Los Angeles, and DocAviv film festivals. She has continued to work in documentary and media production and has been associated with Monadnock Media.
