About the Film

The Covered Bridge Festival hosted annually in Parke County, Indiana since 1957 continues to bring visitors and locals alike to admire the many bridges in the area. The stars of this festival are spread across the county and display a wide variation in architectural styles and designs, preserving a history of folk construction in the area that nonetheless reveals shared patterns, skills and aesthetics. This film explores these bridges and the vernacular architecture of these iconic structures within the context of a community that has imbued these bridges with the rural community values they aspire to.
