- Dr. Deborah Elizabeth “Sunny” Cohen independently produced Going, Going, Going, which received honors from the National Educational Film and Video Festival and the Northwest Film and Video Festival following its release in 1990. In 2010, the film received the Best Classic Roots Culture Film award at the Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival.
- Cohen has continued her work as a transmedia artist in moving image and performance, as well as an educator and scholar. She holds a PhD in Computing Technology in Education, an MA in Drama, and a BA in English. Her qualitative research has focused on diverse communities and cultural phenomena, and her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
- Cohen spent seven years as a university professor, including five years teaching in an international educational setting. Before receiving her PhD in 2005 and returning to the classroom, she led an educational technology and communications company for more than 15 years, producing digital and live-media projects for corporations, museums, television stations, colleges, and nonprofit organizations.
- From May through December 2017, Cohen was a Senior Research Fellow at the Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access. More recently, she has worked as a communications consultant and as a Reiki Master, educator, and distance healer. She is the author of Inner Growth Thru Reiki, published in digital and paperback editions.
