Filmmakers

Winnie Lambrecht is a folklorist, anthropologist, documentary filmmaker, and longtime faculty member at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where she has taught folklore, anthropology, and visual culture. She formerly served as Rhode Island State Folklorist and Folk Arts Coordinator for the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Her documentary work focuses on traditional artists, craftspeople, and community traditions and includes Baking Bread!, Los Cueto: Four Generations of Puppeteers, and The Vagabond Puppeteers. She has also written and lectured widely on folklore and traditional arts.
