Eva Nuanez. Eva was born in 1921 in Berwind, Co. She began playing the violin at 13 as part of her school orchestra. By 1949, Eva was playing professionally. She was one the first Latinas in the country to cross over and sing and play popular songs in English and Spanish. A coal miner’s daughter who grew up without the traditional lessons and training many violinists receive.
