From Shore to Shore (1993)

About the Film

A film about Irish immigrant musicians and their offspring, From Shore to Shore traces the influences of family and community, ethnic identity, and American popular culture on traditional Irish music played in New York City during the 1990s. The film examines both the continuity and the changes that have shaped Irish traditional music since the early 20th century. It blends historic photographs and film footage with contemporary interviews and musical performances.
