Winter Harvest (1987)

About the Film

This film documents the activities of the Bear Creek Ice Company in northeastern Pennsylvania through interviews with former employees, who describe working conditions and the process of "harvesting" the ice from a string of five lakes. Archival footage used to demonstrate cutting and transporting the ice. Although the company was defunct by the 1950s, reminders of its operation still exist in the area. Directed by Stuart MacLelland and produced by Gregory Hansen.
